To make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!
- Love like Jesus
- Learn by His Ways
- Lead by His Example
On Sunday mornings, the Chardon Church family gathers to worship God together. During this time we sing praises to God, pray together, hear God’s word taught, and share concerns and praises. On the first Sunday of each month, we remember Jesus through the act of taking the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) … and everyone is welcome to the table. These Sunday gatherings are life-giving and welcoming to all. For more information, visit Worship. Our main focus is discipleship … that is, growing to be more like Jesus. Discipleship is central to all we do and we believe it to be important for the whole family. We offer age specific opportunities for growth for babies through high school. For more information, check out Kids/Youth Groups.
What are your Sunday services like?
Each Sunday at Chardon Church you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with music and a practical, relevant message. At 8:45 am, our traditional service is held in our Sanctuary, and may include a variety of music from our choir, bell choir, Southern gospel quartet, instruments, grand piano and pipe organ. At 10:00 am, our contemporary service is held in Hayden Hall, and includes music from a full contemporary band. You may dress casual at either service.
What will happen when I visit for the first time?
If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you. We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for a while. But we want to be friendly and meet you. Come in, enjoy the atmosphere, and see if Chardon Church is for you. Inside your worship guide, you will find a connection card. Please take a moment to fill it out. Don’t worry! We won’t send an army of saints to “reel you in”. We simply want to thank you for your visit.
What about my children?
At Chardon Church, your children are a top priority. Our nursery is safe, clean, and staffed with loving and trained workers. We offer a fantastic children’s ministry, as well as opportunities for youth in Middle School and High School. We love to see them grow and serve in a way that will be life-changing. If you have a child 5th grade or younger, we recommend you arrive a few minutes before service begins and check them into our children’s studies. Each classroom has a check-in desk. A map of the facility can be found in each of the event and class articles on our website.

Who We Are
Taking part in any of the above is a great way to find out more about who we are and what we believe. But sometimes that’s not enough. So, read on… The people of The United Methodist Church are putting our faith in action by making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, which is our church’s mission. Through the power of our connection, we are making a positive difference in more than 125 countries. The United Methodist Church is a 12.3-million-strong global church that opens hearts, opens minds and open doors through active engagement with our world. John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action. This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as “practical divinity” has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today. We invite you to learn more about our rich theological heritage. We know that walking into a new building can be hard to “find your way”, and we want to minimize any confusion you may have. We will gladly direct you to the room you are looking for. You’ll often find someone that will walk you there. Throughout the building, we also have signs (normally near the ceiling) that direct you to primary areas of the church and to restrooms. Each class and event article on our website also contains a location hyperlink, that will open a floor map of the facility and highlight where that room is located. We hope this helps you to find your way.
